Deportation Defense & Court Representation
Real advocacy against removal, from your first hearing through appeal.
Removal defense
What is deportation defense?
Deportation defense is representation for someone the government has moved to remove, from the charging document through every hearing.
-
It starts with a charging document.
A case opens when the government files a Notice to Appear naming the grounds it charges. What that document says, and whether it says it correctly, shapes the defense.
-
Court is where it is decided.
Master calendar hearings set the pleadings and the deadlines; the individual hearing is where evidence is heard. There is no appointed lawyer here, and represented respondents fare markedly better.
-
Relief is a separate question from representation.
Anyone with a case can be represented. Whether relief is available — asylum, cancellation of removal, adjustment through a relative, a waiver — turns on the facts, and criminal history narrows those options without ending them.

Our approach
How Olvera Law Office defends a removal case.
-
Read the record first.
We examine the charging document for defects, confirm every hearing date, and map your immigration history against the grounds actually charged.
-
Pursue every avenue of relief.
We identify the defenses your facts support, including asylum and related protection, cancellation of removal, and adjustment of status — and move quickly on bond if anyone is detained.
-
Appear with you, hearing after hearing.
We file the appearance, meet the court's filing deadlines, prepare your testimony, and carry the case through the merits hearing and into an appeal if the decision goes against you.
Eligibility
Eligibility.
This is for anyone with a case in immigration court — or anyone who fears one is coming.
That includes a charging document or a scheduled hearing, a family member in custody, a prior removal order, and anyone out of status who wants their exposure assessed early.
Two obligations are yours alone: attend every hearing, because missing one usually produces a removal order in your absence, and report any address change to the court. More cases are lost to a notice sent to an old address than to any argument.
